On Friday one of the most original music projects of the last
decade will perform. ACO was set up in 2004 by... six art
critics: Agnes Wegner, Andreas Schlaegel, Laura Oldenburg, Micz
Flor, Raimar Stange and Sabine Schmidt, who have played together
since 2004. The group performs their own songs, covers, and
first of all, compositions written especially for them by
invited artists representing the German, Scandinavian, British
and Japanese artistic scene. The first release of ACO was a
12-inches picture disk designed in 2005 by John Bock and
Kirstine Roepstorf. Two years later the newest ACO’s long-play –
Artists Songs – came out. ACO played in most German clubs and
gave a great show at last year’s Art Critics Award in Vienna.
The group is now described as the: “ultimative art rock band of
the new millennium: conceptual, punky, sensitive”.
The Music, as well as activity of the group, is based on an
intelligent sense of humor and auto irony. The musical aspects
act as a background for comical and brilliant lyrics and shows.
