awarded for the Museum of Factory
Manufaktura received prestigious award „Gold
Maxi Award”. World class specialist from the
International Council of Shopping Centres has
chosen cultural-retail- entertainment centre
from Łódź in the category Community Relations
for Museum of the Factory. Interactive
exhibitions, competitions, weekend workshops for
children, computer games tournament – these and
many other attractions does not join the Museum
with dusted and uninteresting exhibitions.
Maxi Award is the international reward that is
granted from 1972 to those shopping centers,
that are distinguished because of spectacular
marketing programs during last year. Competition
is organized by International Council of
Shopping Centres (ICSC) in Hollywood, Florida.
Companies could receive award in 9 categories
i.e. Public Relations, Visual Merchandising i
Business to Business.
Museum of the Factory received award for a
dialogue with its surroundings and creation of
the positive relations with the local community.
This is not the first such prestigious award
that was grantem to the Museum. Last year Museum
was granted with Gold Solal Marketing Award
while in 2007 Mesum of Factory was appreciated
by in “Złote Spinacze” (“Gold Clips”)
competition in the category Public Affairs &
Lobbing.
Museum of the Factory is the next – after Museum
of the Museum of Warsaw Uprising – Project of
the acknowledged artist, Mirosław Nizio. Modern,
multimedia exhibition present history of Izrael
Poznański’s mills manufacturing cotton fabrics
from the moment of opening in XIX century till
the last revitalization of the factory buildings.
In the Museum one can observe how 100-year-old
looms work and one can discovers mysteries of
the production of cotton fabrics. Part of the
exhibition is devoted to the everyday work and
life of the workers of the postwar Poltex
manufacturing plant. Except the permanent
exhibition Museum also prepares temporary
exhibitions showing the history of the factory
from the times of splendor of Izrael Poznański’s
empire will modern times. Linking tradition with
modernity, history with virtual reality
distinguish Museum of the Factory not only in
the region and in the country but also in the
world.
